The Fear Inc ..

Right from the birth till the death everyone goes through chain of fear factors . Form and Factor of the fear changes as we grow in life. It also varies from person to person. When we were kids we had fear of loosing the toys, fear of teachers, fear of parents, fear of failing in the exams, fear of loosing in sports. As we grow the fear factor changes to fear of falling in love- once fell in love you fear break up. In this modern world there thousands and thousands fear factors. Like fear of stock market fall (Shorts cash in on this fear though), fear of Lay off, fear of loosing election, fear of diseases. Like "All roads lead to Rome" its all fears leads to bigger fear, FEAR of DEATH.
Like any other major industry, the industry of fear, I call it, Fear Inc :-).

Fear Inc basically complements/benefits the most of the industries. If you see, Insurance industry depends on Fear Inc, Drugs companies depend on Fear Inc, Root of whole health system is FEAR Inc, Big Security agencies like CIA, CBI or NAI depends on Fear Inc. Whole funda is to create Fear and sell your products as solution to that fear. How much real risk do you run of being murdered? Or how much real risk of terrorist's attack. How much should you really be scared of contracting AIDS/bird flu? How much are you scared of global warming? In short, we need to figure out just how influenced we are by that final sum of all fears: the fear of fear itself.

A quote in "Who moved my cheese" says When You Move Beyond Your Fear, You Feel Free. If everyone moves beyond fear then what happens to all these industries and their marketing strategies. Could there be life without FEAR? If so how would it be? Think if there is no FEAR ..No fear what so ever..will there be fun in such life?

Why is fear so endemic to humankind? Obviously, in that it promotes self-preservation (When kids, Mom would have told you - Don't go in the dark, Tiger would eat you), it has evolutionary value (fear of dark invented the fire). Its counterrevolutionary (fear falling over the edge of the world you'll never discover that its round by sailing across it).
